Tea Villa Café
Mumbai’s much loved Tea Villa Café has now arrived in Pune. The Quirky Café is celebrated for its vast variety of Tea, Coffee and a lot of Food. Located opposite Phoenix East Court in Viman Nagar, the café is anything but quaint.
The ambience is fun and energetic with stylish lights and disparate seating. The colorful backdrop works as a perfect setting for light chatters or lengthy conversations.
Here’s a peak because sometimes pictures explain what words can’t.
The Menu is too elephantine for a café. From cold pressed juices to premium coffees and of course an overdose of tea, Tea Villa Café gives you a bit of everything. The food menu runs from All day breakfast, finger food to Mains which includes Asian bowls, sizzlers and a lot of Italian fare. Read on to know more while here’s a quick list of my recommendations.
The place serves only Vegetarian fare but let this not be a deterrent for foodies.
Mac n Cheese Pizza
Chocolate Overload Waffle
A separate menu for Tea with a huge line up of approximately 100 varieties of tea. Black, White, Red, Pink and Green – suit your palate and get amazed by this exceptional spread. I am not a huge tea fan and prefer subtle flavors, the Kashmiri Kahwa worked well for me.
An impressive range on board again. I loved the ‘White Chocolate Mocha Frappe’. My kind of ‘no nonsense’ coffee – rich and dark. The use of white chocolate lends a refreshing taste, a break from the usual.
Villa Fries Basket
Assorted potato fries, wedges and also sweet potato presented in a basket with a chilli mayo, barbecue and ranch dip on the side. It was average taste-wise, something which can be skipped.
A dish of Swiss Origin where melted cheese is served in a communal pot. There is a candle at the base making this dish ‘lit’ in all aspects. With some bread crumbs and assorted veggies – this dish is a perfect dunk and lick combination. #Impressive
Peri Peri Hummus Roll
Pickled veggies wrapped in a hummus filling. The word ‘peri peri’ is now officially overused and a common substitute for spicy but doesn’t work here. Hummus is just hummus, no particular flavor or spice stand out.
My favorite from their menu. The lasagna had exceptional taste and quality. Hints of pesto and layers of cheese will make you drool and works for a perfect mains in case of major hunger pangs. #LPLFavorite
Pretty little slices of heaven which surpassed my expectation of most vegetarian pizzas. I tried the ‘Mac n Cheese’ and ‘Paneer Tikka’ variants and loved them both at par. Thin crust, ideally loaded with toppings and high on flavor. #Recommended
One of the most trending options available in the Milkshake segment which has blurred the lines between a shake and a dessert. This one at Tea Villa is good and thankfully not notorious. Easy to handle and I’m glad the shake had flavor.
Now for the strikingly beautiful and socially viral – Tea Villa Waffles. The waffles perhaps overshadow everything else on their menu including their range of Teas. I tried the ‘Chocolate Overload’ which had white, dark and Belgian written in bold all over. The triangular beauties are delicious, messy to handle and super filling. They have a wide range of fruit based, nutella and other toppings to click with all moods and preferences. #HighlyRecommended
Considering the prime location, a flamboyant ambience and food which is not just instagram-able but equally delicious, Tea Villa Café scores well. Go visit.
